Let us be honest, dear reader, such a temptation is hard to resist, after all both of us we are but human beings and therefore susceptible to feeble-mindedness, i.e. to the central theme of the present book. That makes it all the more important that we pull ourselves together! The book's organization is chronological; early chapters focus on institutionalization, the development of the state's sterilization law, and the definition and construction of "feeble-minded" persons.

feeble-mindedness n noun: Refers to person, place, thing, quality, etc. (inability to reason well) (figurato) mente offuscata, mente non lucida nf sostantivo femminile: Identifica un essere, un oggetto o un concetto che assume genere femminile: scrittrice, aquila, lampada, moneta, felicità. The first edition of the text was a solid scholarly work but hardly original in its approach. While researching and writing the book, Sutherland quickly mastered the existing literature in criminology, which explained criminal behavior as a product of either .
